The Business Technology Group was founded in 2002 to unite Rotman MBA students with an interest in technology. Since then, the club has hosted a variety of successful events, including Rotman Speaker Series events headlined by executives and upper management from major technology companies, networking sessions encouraging interaction between the Rotman community and industry professionals, and numerous resume and skill development sessions for students. The BTG is currently one of the fastest growing clubs at Rotman.

BTG’s vision of Rotman as a leading source for technology-savvy managers extends to its event calendar for the academic year. The Rotman School of Management has also leveraged its close relationships with the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering in establishing a program unequalled in Canada to provide a fast track for gifted students to earn their Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a professional experience year, a management internship, and an MBA in six years and eight months. The Jeffrey Skoll BASc/MBA Program is the only one in the country that offers these two degrees in one program.
