Last January 31, 2015, MBA students from across North America had the unique opportunity to make an impact in the automotive industry. Students had to use their knowledge in corporate strategy and environmental sustainability to present innovative and practical solutions to solve a live case for GM Canada.
For about a decade now Rotman Net Impact has been hosting an annual Corporate Social Responsibility Case Competition sponsored by major corporations such as TD Bank in 2014 and Sun Life Financial in 2013. This tradition was continued this year with GM Canada. During this event, participants also learned about GM Canada’s recent sustainability commitments and sustainable products, such as the Chevy Bolt.
Teams had to deliver their pitch and engage in Q&A from expert judges from the industry, finance and consulting. The top teams took home thousands of dollars in prize winnings and the satisfaction of knowing that they helped move the CSR needle at a major company.
