What’s in it for me?
Lots:
1.   Top photographs will be displayed at the LENS gala event held in the presence of Rotman alumni, faculty and Toronto celebrity photographers. These photographs will also be displayed in the Masters Student Lounge for a year
2.   Proceeds from the auction at the gallery event would be donated for good cause. For 2017, the proceeds from the auction would go to helping the student development teams at Rotman to support the Global Consulting Projects (GCPs) in partnership with Cuso International
3.   A conversation piece on your resume
What is the gallery event on March 24, 2017?
That is when we announce the winners of this competition, and hold an auction on top photographs. All the proceeds from the auction will be donated to a charity organization.
Is there a cost to participate in LENS?
None. RPA will assume all costs towards printing and framing your photographs. There’s absolutely no cost for participants.
Do you accept photographs taken from my mobile phone?
Yes. Your photographs need not come from a DSLR (read: a pro camera). Smartphone, tablets…anything would work. For good quality prints we request the photos to be of 300PPI and of 2240X1680 pixels.
I don’t really get the “Home Away From Home” theme.
As a guideline: any photograph where the subject shows some kind of memory which evokes a feeling of home. An event/place/experience that warmed your heart with a strong connection of belonging would qualify for submission. However, you can tease your creative mind and explore the theme a little bit.
