• Kyle Chew – Associate, Magris Resources
Kyle Chew, Rotman MBA 2013, joins us with extensive experience in finance and capital markets. Formerly with HSBC and Jacobs Security, Kyle joined Magris Resources in 2014. Magris Resources is a private mining company started by Aaron Regent, former CEO of Barrick Gold. Magris completed their first acquisition in January 2015 of IAMGold’s Niobec mine in Quebec. Magris continues to look for acquisition properties in Canada and around the Globe.
• Megan Dover – Corporate Strategy and Development, Vale
Megan Dover, Rotman MBA 2015, joins us with a unique experience in Strategy and Corporate Development with Vale. Previously with Hatch Management Consulting Group, Megan has worked on various mineral property valuations, market studies, due diligence studies, quantitative risk assessments and industrial energy management assessments in the mining and metals sector.
• Terence Fong – Associate, Global Mining Group, CIBC World Markets
Terence Fong, Rotman JD-MBA 2014, joins us from CIBC World Markets. Terence has been involved in multiple acquisition and financing deals in the mining sector. CIBC Global Mining Group is a world leader in the development of financing, M&A and strategic advisory solutions. CIBC Global Mining Group recently acted as joint bookrunner for Hudbay Minerals $300M corporate revolver and Franco Nevada $500M equity raise.
• Douglas Horn – Associate, Global Mining Group, TD Securities
Douglas Horn, Rotman MBA 2012, joins us from the Global Mining Group at TD Securities. Doug has extensive experience in the commodity and mining industry, previously a commodities analyst at CPM Group in New York. TD Global Mining Group recently acted as advisor to Barrick Gold in the 50% sale of the Zaldivar mine to Antofagasta PLC.
• Jessie Liu-Ernsting – Financial Analyst, Resource Capital Fund
Jessie Lie-Ernsting, Schulich GMM-MBA 2013. Previously with Hatch and CIBC Global Mining Group, Jessie is a professional engineer with specialized finance experience in the mining sector. Resource Capital Funds (RCF) is a mining-focused private equity firm that works closely with its portfolio companies to build strong, successful and sustainable businesses that produce superior returns to all shareholders.
• Stefan Ioannou – Mining Analyst, Haywood Securities Research
Stefan Ioannou, Ph.D., joins as our special guest. Stefan is a mining analyst covering base metal companies at Haywood Securities. Prior to joining Haywood, he worked with a number of exploration and mining companies, as well as government agencies as a field geologist in Nevada and throughout the Canadian Shield in both the gold and base metal sectors. Stefan holds a Ph.D. from University of Toronto in Economic Geology.
