Public Policy Business Exchange (PPBX) with MPP Students

Are you interested in the intersection between private and public sectors? Governance? Public-private partnerships?

We are a group of Master of Public Policy (MPP) students at the U of T, looking for partners from Rotman to start a student-led debate society.

We have witnessed a knowledge gap among students in the MBA and MPP programs when it comes to the interactions between business and government, and the nature of government’s relationships with the private sector. We propose that members from both sides could exchange knowledge: We call it the Public Policy Business Exchange (PPBX).

Our goal is to have true collaboration, holding workshops and debates where teams of MBA and MPP students compliment and educate each other. We aim to have an initial event in October: an issue-setting session to brainstorm topics and pair like-minded students. This is to be followed by debate and public speaking workshops in November, ultimately culminating in a debate tournament style main event in January 2016.
