Rotman Spotlight: Tyrenny Anderson

Rotman Spotlight aims to introduce the student body to each GBC member’s mission to bring the three pillars to life: Support, School Spirit and, Community & Integration.

In this edition of Rotman Spotlight, we had a quick chat with Tyrenny Anderson, the GBC’s Outreach Manager.

1. Who are you?

Tyrenny Anderson, Outreach Manager, 2 year MBA program,

I was a Senior Operations Manager who left private industry to seek more fulfilling work in the Social Enterprise Sector.  Currently a Consultant at Rotman NeXus Consulting Group.

2. Why did you join the GBC and what is your mission for the 2013-2014 school year?

I joined the GBC as Outreach Manager as I thought it would be the best way to have a positive impact on both the community inside and outside of Rotman.  My mission for this year is to inspire my peers to think about the big picture as often as possible.  I believe one of the best ways to cultivate a healthy perspective is by giving back to those in need.  Outreach provides many opportunities to connect Rotman students to the community through fundraising and volunteer initiatives.  [EDITOR’S NOTE: Want to help Tyrenny? She’s looking for students to join the Rotman Outreach Executive Committee!]

3. What is your favourite thing about the Rotman experience?

My favourite thing about the Rotman experience is having the privilege to interact with such a talented group of people on a daily basis.  The greatest moment of last year for me was during the Food Drive when it was clear I was surrounded by people with gigantic brains AND even bigger hearts.  As a result of our collective efforts we donated over 7000 items to the Fort York Food Bank which represents their single biggest donation to date.
