The Rotman Human Capital Club (HCC) aims to discuss key challenges facing organizations and explore the crucial role that all function under the human capital umbrella play in designing processes to build collaborative and innovative workforces.
The HCC helps develop a new breed of leaders by providing valuable learning and networking opportunities within the field of human capital, encompassing everything from internal HR strategy to human capital consulting.
Regardless of your career goals, the HCC is inclusive of anyone interested in learning about leading and motivating human capital.
Andrew graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Sciences. Post-graduation he returned to Taiwan and worked as a project manager, overseeing the development and manufacturing of innovative medical devices for 3 years. He completed his internship at Deloitte in the Organization sub-service line and hopes to continue his career in human capital and change management consulting. Outside of school and work, Andrew enjoys playing video games, working out, and karaoke with friends.
Shamael graduated with a degree in Economics and Mathematics from Smith College in the US. Prior to Rotman, she worked in consulting and internal strategy roles in 4 different countries. She is driven by being able to make meaningful impact on both individuals and organizations and is fascinated by how a human centric business approach can lead to sustainable growth across industries. In her leisure time, Shamael enjoys exploring new places and cuisines, running and cycling outdoors!
Prior to Rotman, Winne worked as Human Resources Professional in two large enterprises for 3.5 years before switching role to be an independent consultant, helping clients to establish and transform their talent strategies and practices. Post-MBA, Winne plans to go into consulting or join a leadership rotational program and work her way up to become a general manager in the future.
Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and a master’s degree in Applied Math from a university in Colombia, South America. Prior to Rotman, she worked as Director of Corporate Finance in a multi-Latin insurance company for 7 years. This summer, Laura worked as a Summer Associate in the innovation labs of CIBC. Laura is an outgoing yogi, and passionate about good coffee and women empowerment.
Tasia completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology in Indonesia and Australia. Prior to Rotman, she spent more than 6 years working in various HR functions in a leading international tobacco company. She has found her passion in Compensation & Benefit Strategy and hopes to continue pursuing career in this field. For her internship, Tasia was at RBC in their Transformation and Portfolio Management team.

This year we are planning to collaborate with the Rotman Business Design Club (BDC) to host a personal branding and presentation skill development workshop. It involves an overall discussion of how to brand oneself and establish professional presence in workplace.
November 18, 2020
Members will have the opportunity to network with a number of industry professionals who are coming from various background and functions. This event aims to expand members’ professional connections and knowledge about different subareas within Human Capital.
February 2021
This case competition is focused on challenging participants to come up with solutions to solve complex issues related to current Human Capital trends in a time-constraint, high-pressure scenario. Participants will be coached by industry professionals throughout the process.
