David Mirvish is a Canadian art collector, art dealer, theatre producer and son of the late “Honest” Ed Mirvish and Anne Lazare Macklin.

In 1987 David took over the Royal Alexandra Theatre and founded the company Mirvish Productions for the purpose of producing and staging original works for his theatres.  Mirvish Productions has produced stagings of musicals such as Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Crazy for You, Rent, The Lion King and the Sound of Music.

David owns and operates the Royal Alexandra Theatre, the Princess of Wales Theatre, the Ed Mirvish Theatre and the Panasonic Theatre.

In 1995 David was made a member of the Order of Canada and in 2001 the Order of Ontario.  David is a big supporter of the arts and from 2002-2005 he was on the Board of Trustees of the Royal Ontario Museum and the National Gallery of Canada. David is not done yet, as he plans to redevelop his real estate holdings on King Street West into three distinct towers as well as a gallery for his extensive collation of abstract expressionist art.
