Mentorship Program

What is the Marketing Mentorship Program?

The objective of this program is to connect marketers with students for sharing real-world tips & insights and offering advice to students interested in pursuing marketing careers. One student will be paired with one mentor.

Who can participate as a mentee?

The program is open to all RMA members (2nd years too!).

Who are the mentors?

The mentors are industry professionals that come from diverse areas of marketing, and a majority of whom are Rotman Alumni that have been in mentees' shoes. They are passionate about helping and mentoring students in achieving their professional goals. Last year’s program saw mentors from a wide range of industries:


What’s the commitment required from the mentor and mentee?

The mentor and mentee will meet three times for up to 1 hour each over the course of 4-6 months (see below). The RMA will provide soft guidelines on topics to cover during each meeting, though the mentor and mentee pairs are encouraged to modify as they see fit. The exact dates and locations will be left to the discretion of the mentor and mentee. We suggest meeting at a coffee shop, at the mentor’s office, or at Rotman.

Mentee: Take the driver’s seat! Be proactive, be prepared, stay engaged throughout the program and most importantly, be coachable! The mentors are taking time out of their busy schedule just for you!

Mentor: Mentors will provide guidance and career advice. They will share tips and insights from their personal experiences.

Feedback: Both mentor and mentee will provide feedback via a short survey at the end of the program. Mentees will submit a 1-page report summarizing their experience and key learnings.

All events and sessions are mandatory for mentees.
