Date:                                   March 24th, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Location:                          Desautels Hall, Rotman School of Management

Event Name:                  Rotman LENS: Home Away From Home

About the Event:

Rotman Photography Association is partnering with the Cuso International to present the Rotman LENS 2017. LENS festival is an annual charity event where photographs donated by students and celebrity photographers are auctioned and the proceeds go to a cause. The theme for the event this year is “Home Away From Home”.
Cuso International is a development organization that works to reduce poverty by creating sustainable livelihoods; eliminate disadvantage by improving access to education and healthcare; and combat inequality by empowering people and communities. An article in The Globe and Mail talks extensively about a Rotman student experience who consulted in Nigeria through Cuso International. Rotman has sent its students to Myanmar, Nigeria and Columbia among many other places in developing countries such as Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The expected reach of the event would be around 25,000 including ~14,000 students from University of Toronto.
The Competition:
We would also like to invite all Rotman students, staff and alumni to donate a photograph to be featured as part of our silent auction. This would be done though a weekly competition spanning four weeks starting February 11, 2016. The top photographs submitted by students would be auctioned on the day of the final event and would feature among some of the most popular professional photographers of Toronto.
All submissions must accompany a brief write-up (50 words) and an optional photographer’s bio (50 words).
The top photograph from each week would receive a prize money of $50.
