Raman Sohal, MBA

Raman Sohal is a Research Associate with the T-HOPE team. She has an MA in Political Science and International Development (University of Guelph)  and an MBA (Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto). Prior to joining the T-HOPE team, Raman worked as a Research Officer at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Ottawa, Canada and as a Monitoring and Reporting Specialist at UN Women in New York City. Raman is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

Jason Sukhram, BEng

Jason Sukhram is a Research Associate with the T-HOPE team and recently completed his MBA at the University of Toronto. He is interested in combining technological innovations with creative business models to find solutions to some of the world’s most important challenges. He is currently studying the effectiveness of public private partnerships in low- and middle-income countries, and the continued growth of global impact investing.

David Leung, MD

David Leung is currently a Research Associate with the T-HOPE team. He graduated from the University of British Columbia with his MD and completed his Family Medicine residency at St. Michael’s Hospital at the University of Toronto. He is interested in the intersection between medicine, business and technology.

Daniela Graziano, BSc

Daniela Graziano received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a special interest in exploring the social determinants of health and its role in contributing to local and global health inequities, with a passionate, and perhaps overwhelming interest, in nutrition and chronic disease prevention. Her growing interest to learn about the health disparities in the Global South took her to the colourful streets of India where she volunteered with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata and where her love for cross-cultural perspectives and wisdom was strengthened. She is currently pursuing her MSc in Global Health at McMaster University.

Pavan Gill, BSc

Pavan Gill is medical student and LEAD scholar at the University of Toronto. She has a strong interest in global health and addressing health disparities experienced by marginalized populations. Her passion has led her to working with communities in Guyana, Namibia and New York City. As a member of the T-HOPE team, Pavan’s research focus is on reverse innovation. Pavan completed her undergraduate degree in Human Behavioral Biology at the University of Toronto.

Diane Wu, MD, MPH

Diane Wu is a family medicine resident physician at St Michael’s Hospital. She has interests in health systems policy and management, particularly in evaluating health programs within low- and middle-income countries. She led the implementation of the first comprehensive evaluation strategy for a World Health Organization symposium and has consulted for the Canadian International Development Agency. She has experience working in medicine and public health in China, Laos, Bosnia-Herzegovina, England, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States.

Christopher Yao, MD

Christopher Yao is an Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery resident physician based in Toronto. He completed his MD at the University of Toronto. He is particularly interested in the intersection between medicine, business, and technology in surgery and global health.

John Ginther, MBA

John Ginther holds a MBA and Master of Global Affairs from the University of Toronto. He joined the T-HOPE team in April 2012, with a prior background focused on financial measurement and project implementation.

Himanshu Parikh, MD

Himanshu Parikh is a physician by training. Has recently completed Master’s in Health Services Research (HSR) from the University of Toronto and currently working as a Research Coordinator with TECCHI (The Evaluation Center for Complex Health Intervention).

Ilan Shahin, MD, MBA

Ilan Shahin is a family physician based in Toronto who completed his medical degree and MBA at McGill University. His interests include health-care delivery, health psychology and knowledge translation. He is a musician by night and an avid traveler come vacation-time.
