Great mentors are critical elements in students’ professional and personal development. The Letters’ mentorship program, now in its second year, will launch again in October 2016 with a call for student applications. Mentor applications are accepted year-round. Please contact us for more information.
The mentorship program connects LGBTQ-identifying Rotman MBA students with professionals in the LGBTQ community. The purpose of the program is to provide students with an opportunity for professional development and provide mentors with an opportunity to connect with talented and diverse young professionals and share their valuable career experiences.
Rotman students are matched with professionals whose career and personal interests align with their own. To apply for the mentorship program, a student must be a member of The Letters. If and when a match has been made, The Letters will ensure that contact information and additional logistical information are exchanged between both the mentor and mentee. A list of general suggestions on how to make the most of the mentoring experience will also be provided to both parties.
The Letters will provide the following support to the participants throughout the year:
- The Letters will host a kick-off networking dinner in November 2016 to greet all mentorship program participants.
- A Letters executive member will facilitate periodic check-ins with both mentor and mentee about the progress of relationship.
- The Letters will host a year-end networking dinner for program participants in April 2017.
In order to provide feedback and suggestions on the program, a short survey will be distributed to participants the end of the year.
The Letters is currently accepting applications for first years interested in participating in our mentorship program. Interested applicants can submit their application through this form.
Deadline is October 10th at 11:59PM.
