Improve Your Networking by Taking Risks

The Rotman Leadership Club is happy to inform you that the registration for the Bill McEvily event, Taking the Lead on Networking: How to Improve your Networking by Taking Risks, will open on March 18th and close on March 22nd.  You can register on RWorld under “Event Registration”. The event is free for RLC members and $10 for non-members and will take place on March 27th from 5:30-7:00pm in the CIBC Room.Description: Understand and apply the most recent research on effective networking. Professor Bill McEvily will present recent research and findings on how risk-taking improves networking effectiveness.  He will give you fun tools to increase your ability to take risks and become a better networker.

Bill McEvily is an associate professor of strategic management at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, where he teaches courses on social networks, strategy implementation, and organizational theory. His research explores social networks as an organizational and strategic resource. Professor McEvily’s research has been published in Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and the Strategic Management Journal. He is a Senior Editor at Organization Science and has served as guest editor for special issues of Management Science and Organization Science. Professor McEvily earned his Ph.D. in Strategic Management and Organization from the University of Minnesota.
