So, you’ve finally decided that the Master of Financial Risk Management is right for you, but you only have one week to complete the application. Is this even possible?
Yes, it is! And here are some tips to help you focus and successfully submit an application:
Focus on submitting your online application form. Supplemental items, such as reference letters and transcripts are required to complete your application. However, the document deadline is not until March 1st! Submit your online application form first as it is due February 10th. Once you’ve taken care of that, you have a few weeks to gather all other information and make sure that they’re in by the document deadline.
If you are graduating in 2016, don’t worry about your final official transcript yet. Many of you are probably in your final term of your undergraduate degree. As such, we certainly don’t expect you to have a final official transcript. As long as you have submitted your unofficial transcript to-date, you are on top of the game. You’ll only be asked to submit your final official transcript if you get a conditional offer.
Remember that the GMAT/GRE is not required for admissions to the program. While some students choose to take the GMAT or GRE to reinforce their application and to demonstrate high quantitative proficiency, neither of these tests are required for admissions.
You can apply without having completed the MFRM prerequisite courses. Remember that we offer you the opportunity to complete qualifying exams in May. Think you might be exempt because of your existing qualifications? Check our website for all the ways you might be exempt.
We hope these tips are helpful as you complete your application. If you have further questions, first check out the Master of Financial Risk Management website. Contact us if we can help at mfrm@rotman.utoronto.ca.
Good Luck!
