TechTO is one of the largest meet-ups in Toronto. Every month, tech professionals (inspirational speakers) are invited to share their success (and also failure) stories. BTA sponsors to send Rotman students to the event almost every month. This month, we were 10 students from Rotman along with hundreds of professionals at TechTO.
Plum’s CEO Caitlin shared her hard-learned lessons, Clinton from Lane talk about how to build and manage a team, Joanna from Knixwear explained the relationship between creating FOMO and fundraising, Ryan from Biorender talked about their journey, and lastly Ron from HiMama talked about ethics. Tens of community members looking for customers, employees, and employers introduced themselves.
Whenever I go to TechTO, I realize how big the technology market is in Toronto, and feel empowered as a tech professional, woman, and newcomer. I had already learned networking is another game, for some it’s a good opportunity for some people. I don’t in which group you’re in but start meeting people outside of Rotman, and TechTo is one of the good places to do that.
