Rotman Portfolio Management Competition 2023 – winners!

Toronto – on March 24, 2023, The BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, hosted the Rotman Portfolio Management Competition 2023 final portfolio strategy and award ceremony in the FRT-Lab at St. George Campus.

Congratulations to the top-performing teams:

1st place: the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management team Howie Dou, Zihao Gong, and Yu Zheng.

2nd place: University of Alberta team Selena Yang, Sonya Lalani, and Kayla Lee Pong.

3rd place: University of British Columbia team Joe Zhong, Catherine Wang, and Iris Du.

The top-performing teams demonstrated excellent portfolio management skills by complementing their classroom learning and practical hands-on experience using our portfolio management platforms.

The portfolio management period started on November 3, 2022, and ended on March 9, 2023.

The top performing teams presented their strategies to the judge Kiana Xu, Senior Associate, Public Equities at the University of Toronto Asset Management.
