Welcome to the Rotman Microsoft® Excel® Hackathon 2025 supported by CCI Learning® participant page. This page will provide everything you need to test your excel skills with us at the Excel® Hackathon on March 19th, 2025!

Instructions
Double click the Jasperactive desktop icon to navigate to https://mos.jasperactive.com
Login with your email & the password provided to you in your confirmation email.
You are now logged in to Jasperactive!
Select “Go to Jasperactive Microsoft Office”
You are now at the submission portal.
No further action needed.
Minimize this window.
You are now ready to begin your challenges!
Open Excel®, and navigate to “File” > “Options”
Navigate down to “Trust Centre”
Select “Macro Settings”
Check the box for “Developer Macro Settings” > “Trust access to the VBA project object model
How to work and submit the competition case
Complete Challenge #1- Excel® Core Create
This challenge tests the skills necessary to create and edit professional-looking spreadsheets for a variety of purposes and situations using Excel®.
Open the Challenge #1 Checklist: Jasperactive Excel® Core Create
Complete Challenge #1 – Jasperactive Excel® Core Create.
Save your work to your Desktop.
Submit Challenge #1
Open your Jasperactive login window. Then Login.
Select “Excel” > “Go to Course”
Select the “Create” tab to launch “Submit Exercise”
If needed, click ‘Try Again” below “Create”.
Select “Submit Exercise”
Submit your Excel® Core Create document.
This will be your timestamp for scoring the competition results.
Jasperactive will show you your Performance Results.
Click on “Return to Jasperactive”.
Minimize this window.
When you are ready to move onto the next challenge, select “Submit” on the Challenge #1 Checklist: Jasperactive Excel® Core Create
Complete Challenge #2 - Excel® Expert Create
This challenge tests your skills in a variety of intermediate and advanced features to consolidate data, perform data analysis, and audit formulas in spreadsheets. You will perform summary functions, create pivot tables and pivot charts, and work with macros using Excel®.

In a separate window, open the Challenge #2 Checklist: Jasperactive Excel® Expert Create
Complete Challenge #2 – Jasperactive Excel® Expert Create.
Save your work to your Desktop.
Submit Challenge #2
Open your Jasperactive login window.
Login.
Select “Excel” > “Go to Course”
Select the “Create” tab to launch “Submit Exercise”
If needed, click ‘Try Again” below “Create”.
Select “Submit Exercise”
Submit your Excel® Expert Create document.
This will be your timestamp for scoring the competition results.
Jasperactive will show you your Performance Results.
Click on “Return to Jasperactive”.

When you have completed Challenge #2, and are ready to complete the Hackathon, submit your Challenge #2 Checklist: Jasperactive Excel® Expert Create
Scoring
Congratulations! You have completed the Excel® Hackathon!
- Jasperactive will show you your score almost immediately upon submission.
- Ranking will be determined based on combination of score + completion time per challenge.
