Giving Voice to Values (GVV) for Investment Professionals

Ethics education often focuses on developing an awareness of ethical issues and then training you to conduct an analysis of how those issues should be addressed. You learn to apply a set of ethical principles or standards to act appropriately and avoid the negative consequences of unethical behavior. But Giving Voice to Values (GVV) focuses on action. Awareness and analysis point you in the right direction, but action teaches you to implement your ethical values. GVV encourages you to ask yourself “ WHAT IF I were going to act on my values? What would I say and do? How could I be most effective?”

GVV is not about persuading people to be more ethical. Instead, GVV starts from the premise that most of us have a strong ethical foundation and want to act on our values, but we want to have a reasonable chance of doing so effectively and successfully. GVV gives us the tools to take advantage of those opportunities to act. Watch this short clip to learn more.
