Step 1

Download the RIT Market Simulator Client Application msi version

Step 2

Check your Microsoft Office build version (either 32-bit or 64-bit). To do so, follow the steps below:

    1. Open Microsoft Excel
    2. Click on “File,” then “Account.”
    3. Click on “About Excel”

Please note that the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions refer to your Microsoft Office versions, not your Windows version. If you are not sure which version to download, please refer to the RIT – Client and RTD Installation Instructions for detailed instructions on how to install the RIT Market Simulator client and the RTD Links.

Minimum system requirements

RIT 2.0 uses Microsoft .NET 4.8 Framework. Most windows operating systems already have it installed by default, so you do not need to install it separately. However, if you are having trouble installing or running RIT after installing it from the link above, please try to install/update .NET 4 and then try again.

  • Microsoft Windows 10 or 11
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
  • Core 1.5 Ghz CPU (or equivalent)
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 128 GB SSD Storage
  • .NET 4.8

Network administrators

RIT 2.0 uses the Microsoft Click-Once application for deployment and updates. The software automatically checks for updates each time it is launched and saves all data, including the application, on the local user profile. If you need the MSI file for the installation (recommended only for IT administrators), please also contact

To see the RIT Market Simulator in action, users can follow the appropriate links below to download the RIT Market Simulator Client Application, install the software on their PC, and connect to a demonstration server hosted by the Rotman School of Management.
