1. Spark Centre’s Ignite Program

The competition is presented through the Spark Centre’s Ignite Program with the OPG category for this pitch competition looking for innovative ideas in the following areas:

  • Automation and Robotics
    •             NDE (Non-Destructive Examination)
    •             Drones (UAVs – Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)
    •             Process Management
    •             Software Solutions
    •             Underwater Inspections (Diving Operations)
    •             Laser Scanning/Mapping
    •             Data Visualization

Any pitches that are accepted are eligible for a “pitch school”  and mentoring at OPG which is scheduled for the beginning of November.  Finalists will be presenting to OPG Directors at the end of November.

2. Creative Shock 2017

Creative Shock 2017, an international social business case competition organized by the Students’ Association of ISM University of Management and Economics. Last year Creative Shock attracted 1291 participants from 91 countries.

Creative Shock attracts youth from all over the world to educate them about the concept of social business, its implementation, and impact. The competition consists of 3 stages:

  • During the 1st stage, teams of 3-4 students or individual students register, and have to solve a social business case prepared by our intellectual partner.
  • During the 2nd stage, teams have to create a low-budget marketing campaign for Lithuanian or international organizations and present them through short and unique videos.
  • The last stage will take place on November 30th – December 3rd at ISM University of Management and Economics, where TOP 10 teams will be competing for the Grand Prize – 2000 euros and Turkish Airlines tickets to any country of their choosing. During the 3rd stage, we will also have an international social business conference hosting famous social entrepreneurs.

Registration starts on the 18th of September and lasts until the 8th of October. 

Last year students from Oxford University won the competition.

The main purpose of the “International  Conference on Quality in Higher Education” is to form a basis for future studies in the field of quality in higher education, to present solutions to increasing problems in education quality, to share modern developments and research applications in higher education.

Sakarya University has been working on quality in Turkish Higher Education for a long time.  As a result of these efforts, it received the prestigious 2015 Excellence Award given by the European Foundation for Quality Management. 5. Better World Case Competition

The Business for a Better World Case Competition is an international contest now into its fifth year and is co-hosted by Corporate Knights, the company for clean capitalism, and the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto. The contest is open to MBA students as well as Masters-level students focus in the business & sustainability field. Students who participate will be given a case related to sustainability and in teams of 3-4 will over 3 rounds develop a detailed business strategy for solving the case. With a prize pool of $10,000CAD, the final round of the MBA competition will see three top teams present their case analysis in front of a live panel of high-profile judges in Davos, Switzerland, coinciding with the World Economic Forum in January.

This is a great opportunity for your students to build knowledge and expertise in the field of sustainability. Throughout the process students will be challenged to think critically and communicate their business plans effectively. The competition is also an opportunity to promote your school’s MBA program and winning teams are often highlighted on corporateknights.com (click here for last year’s news release).

The DeGroote School of Business (McMaster University) is hosting its third annual two-day Technology & Digital Innovation themed case competition from November 24-25th, 2017.  Teams of 4 are encouraged to see if your school has an internal process for selection; otherwise, they can apply on the DCC website.  Registration closes on October 31st, 2017.
