When: Screening presentations – 5pm to 9pm on 10th October, Final presentation – 6pm to 8pm on 12th October (click here for more details). Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled kick-off.

ROMA brings to you a Case Competition with North America’s oldest firm, Hudson’s Bay Company, giving you an opportunity to sharpen your problem-solving skills to help address a live business challenge!

The best part – the winning team goes through to the Final Round of Interview for an exciting Summer Internship with HBC!

HBC and ROMA are excited to share their live business challenge to strategically improve their operations at the kick-off session (details below). Attend the session to get a first-hand download from HBC team, access to actual, strategic data and ignite your curious minds by asking questions! And don’t miss the opportunity to network with brilliant industry experts!!

Next steps:

  1. Register for the kick-off event on RWorld by 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 20, and complete the google form attached with the R-World event.
    • Note: Please ensure you’ve registered with ROMA on R-World before the event. Since this case competition is open only to ROMA members, those registered for the event and not registered with ROMA will not be allowed to participate.
  2. Registered candidates will receive a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) directly from HBC Legal team by 8:00pm, Thursday, September 21.
  3. You need to duly sign and scan back the NDA directly to HBC Legal Team by 6:00pm, Friday, September 22, 2017. In your reply email to HBC, please do not forget to copy ROMA VP-Partnership Chandan.choubey18@rotman.utoronto.ca.
    • Note: If you forget to send the signed NDA to HBC and/or copy ROMA in your reply email, you will not be allowed to attend the kick-off event.

Schedule:

  1. Kick-off event: 6:30pm – 8:30pm, Monday, September 25, 2017
  2. Deadline for submission: 12 Noon, Tuesday, October 10, 2017
  3. Screening presentation: Each team to present in front of a panel of judges including HBC representatives in a session from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2017
  4. Final presentation: Top 3 teams will make final presentation from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, October 12, 2017
  5. Winners announcement: Winning team will be announced soon after completion of final presentation on October 12.

Venue

  1. Screening presentations: RSM142 and RSM147 (based on teams)
  2. Final presentation: RSM LL1035

Guidelines:

  • Form a team of 4 ROMA members.
  • All team members must participate in their team’s presentation(s).
  • Presentation once submitted for screening will also be used for final assessment if selected.
  • Professional behaviour in participation and presentation is a must.
    • Being on time is imperative.
    • Dress code for all events is business formal.
