General Information
Rotman offers students opportunities to enhance their educational experience and go beyond the classroom. Full-Time and Morning/Evening MBA students may select from a wide variety of global and experiential learning opportunities to take their future employability to the next level.
These additional learning opportunities involve courses that allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world environments by providing hands-on experience.
Our international opportunities with more than 20 partners will allow students to immerse themselves in another culture. Students will learn from new perspectives and gain valuable intercultural communication skills.

Students will learn all the aspects required to drive the internationalization process of a firm. The program consists of three parts:
- Rotman elective RSM2123H – International Business in the World Economy
- Practical training and working with companies on their internationalization process (GCP, previously ISP)
- Accompany a Canadian company abroad on a government-sponsored trade mission, with financial support (GP, previously GCP)
Students that participate in the Global Manager Initiative by completing the steps 1-3 are eligible to become an Institute for International Business Fellowship holder. This involves being listed on the RIIB website, and mentoring students in the following year. The GMI is run by the OELPP, and students should reach out to their office directly for details regarding this program. A brief informational video can also be accessed here.

Drop Deadlines
See the schedule below for the specific drop date for each course.
Independent Study Projects and Global Consulting Projects
ISPs (RSM2700H) and GCPs (RSM2701H) are project-based and frequently involve direct client interactions. Students are responsible for delivering results through their project work, which also affects the reputation of the Rotman School.
Abandoning a project after committing to a client can harm client relationships and reduce future opportunities for students to collaborate with those clients. Therefore, students must make a firm commitment to both the project and the course.
The drop date for ISPs and GCPs is one business day following the first class session. Drop requests beyond one business day after the first class may be subject to a WDR notation on the official transcript. Full drop policies can be found here.
Global Practicums
GPs (RSM2709H, RSM2710H, RSM2711H, RSM2712H, RSM2713H) are complex to organize and typically require months of advance planning. Faculty members coordinate site visits and project commitments with external clients, which may limit the number of students who can participate.
Students opting to enrol in a GP must arrange their travel logistics, including visa applications and flight bookings. Concurrently, the OELPP will handle hotel reservations, site visit logistics, and event planning. Consequently, students must provide a firm commitment through a financial deposit.
Dropping a GP course is only permissible before the deposit deadline. In exceptional cases, such as unforeseen external factors (e.g., political issues, climate events, pandemics), the course may be canceled rather than rebooked. In the event of personal emergencies, students are encouraged to contact the program office directly. Drop requests beyond the listed deadline may be subject to a WDR notation on the official transcript. Full drop policies can be found here.
Current Opportunities
These courses will be available for selection via Course Match or Add/Drop along with other Rotman electives, unless otherwise noted.
